To that list, however, can be added how to save money and budget if you are a member of the Bathurst Panthers Junior Rugby League.
Vice-president Harry Saban says the club doesn’t just want to create good young footballers, it wants to create good young men, so it is working with club sponsors to provide education opportunities.
A recent financial literacy afternoon held with the under 10s at Reliance Bank’s innovative Gunthers Lane technology hub was an opportunity for the youngsters to think about the importance of saving, the value of money and how to go about budgeting.
The same financial skills will be passed on to the club’s juniors up to the under 13s, Mr Saban said.
He said the club plans to have mental health education days and drug and alcohol education days to help its players as part of its focus on producing well-rounded young men.
