The model tells the stories of the cultural significance and history of Mount Panorama-Wahluu and its evolution into one of the best-known racing facilities in Australia.

There is also information on how the mountain formed and the geology of the surrounding region.

The display features a custom-built table that allows visitors to use their design skills to make their own creations. Entry is free with museum admission of $5 for the Lego exhibition, which runs until July 24.

The art gallery and library also have a variety of children’s activities available during the school holidays, including workshops on origami, string art, goblin and fairy door making and anime drawing.

Whatever you have planned, I hope you enjoy your time off over Easter surrounded by friends and family and have a safe and relaxing break.

EASTER weekend is just about with us and there are many events being conducted across the electorate, including the Hi-Tec Bathurst 6 Hour race. 

Our roads will be busy and once again I ask that all drivers take time and extra care when travelling. 

Slow down on the road as we have already lost 384 lives across the state this year, with 55 fatalities in the western region. 

Double demerit points will run through until midnight on Monday, April 17.   

Palliative care

I WELCOME the news that the future of palliative care services in NSW will be discussed at statewide roundtables with the community and health professionals and I am pleased to see that regional communities and regionally based health professionals are being consulted as part of this initiative.

Palliative care services are extremely important, especially in rural and regional areas, and these roundtables will help better inform government on what is the best direction to take as part of our new palliative care strategy.

The first roundtable will be held at Parliament House on Wednesday, April 26.

National spirit

NEW flags will be flying high over the Bathurst Hospital following the presentation of our state and federal flags in the company of my federal colleague Andrew Gee. 

It is always great to see our standards on buildings as they are a great reminder of our national spirit.

THE NSW Government is inviting holidaymakers and locals to share videos of their short breaks in the Bathurst electorate as part of a marketing campaign to promote travel to rural and regional NSW. 

The “What I Love About Holidays in NSW” campaign will use videos and photos taken by travel enthusiasts and locals to showcase the vast array of experiences, landscapes and attractions on offer in rural and regional NSW. 

To take part in the campaign, people are urged to upload their videos to www.visitnsw.com/ilovensw. Videos and photos can also be shared on Twitter and Instagram using #ILoveNSW.

The eight best video contributions will each win a Canon prize pack, which includes a Canon camera and a photography tutorial.
