A FAMILY fun day will be held on Saturday to celebrate a new beginning for a local community organisation.

Community service provider CareWest has merged with six other like-minded organisations to form LiveBetter Community Services.

The new organisation, which now spans much of regional NSW and central Queensland, will work to ensure communities continue to have access to services designed to meet the needs of regional townships.

“People in regional areas have unique needs,” LiveBetter CEO Tim Curran said.

The family fun day, from 10am to 1pm at 225 Howick Street, will include a free barbecue, live entertainment, face-painting, a jumping castle and lucky door prizes, as well as an opportunity to find out more about the National Disability Insurance Scheme and services and tour the facilities.
