All across the Bathurst region, people will pause for Anzac Day, April 25, to remember all those who have fought and fallen in all conflicts.
Several services will be held in the city and in towns and around Bathurst.
Bathurst RSL sub-branch president David Mills said the day provides an opportunity to celebrate our culture and to reflect on sacrifice made.
“It’s a chance to celebrate who we are as Australians. We’re not glorifying war, but acknowledging the service and sacrifice people have made,” he said.
“It’s a celebration of being in a free country.”
Memorial services around the region are traditionally well attended, at both dawn and morning services.
The Carillon’s service, at 10.30am, is the best attended one in the region.
