Having run a league tag premiership now since 2011, the Group 10 competition is littered with quality players, the best of which have been named in Brenden Tidswell’s side set to tag the Woodbridge Cup team in game one at Jock Colley Field.
Blayney’s Olivia Bird, the Group 10 league tag player of the year, and Sophie Stammers are notable absentees – both have prior commitments this Saturday – but Australian Rugby Sevens squad member Darcie Morrison headlines a stacked squad.
Morrison is one of two St Pat’s players in the squad – Mish Sommers the other – while Bathurst Panthers has a strong representation as well.
Four Panthers in Claire Woolmington, Monique Christie-Johnson plus sisters Amy Hotham and Jess Hotham will look to help Group 10 to Western bragging rights.
If they are able to win in Parkes, it will boost the chances of Group 10 players being named in the Western outfit which will go on and contest the second edition of Country Rugby League’ league tag country championship.
Group 10’s first game is against Woodbridge Cup at 10am, with Manildra and Cargo’s sides to dominating their representative outfit. If they win that match, they will advance to the final to meet either Group 11 or Castlereagh-Barwon Darling.
