A family fun day was held at the organisation’s Howick Street office, where there were activities for kids and adults. LiveBetter trained staff were also on hand with information to help walk people through how to access services through the National Disability Insurance Scheme and My Aged Care.
LiveBetter CEO Tim Curran says CareWest has had a proud history in regional NSW, however the organisation now offers more than just care and no longer only operates west of the Great Dividing Range.
“While care will always be at the core of what we do, LiveBetter represents more than just a change to our name and logo - it’s about our customers’ aspirations to live better lives,” Mr Curran said.
“And we have progressively amalgamated with several like-minded organisations to provide a range of community, well-being and mental health services across regional NSW and Queensland.”
LiveBetter started as Orange Community Resource Organisation more than 30 years ago, before becoming CareWest, and now operates in over 40 regions across NSW and Queensland, giving communities access to services designed to meet the needs of regional towns.
Mr Curran said all clinical staff, managers and support workers will continue to live and work locally.
CareWest merged with Excelcare and There4U (Central Queensland), Family Link (Wagga Wagga), Age Concern (Albury Wodonga), Broken Hill HACC and Disability Services (Far West NSW) and Translinc Community Transport (Lithgow, Oberon and Cowra).
They were also recently joined by Community Transport in Dubbo, Glen Innes, Tenterfield, Balranald, Wentworth and Ivanhoe.
