The feature artist will be Nicole Foxall, a self-confessed colour junkie who loves using hefty doses of pigment and vibrancy in her paintings. Her mission is to express and create from the world around her and bring colour and happiness to people’s walls.
“It’s a great pleasure to host the Festival of Art and the breadth in the collection of works is very impressive,” All Saints’ head of college Steven O’Connor said.
“We have many returning local artists who enjoy the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work and we are pleased to announce $1800 in prizemoney will be awarded at the 2017 Festival of Art.
“This year, new pieces will be on sale from popular artists including Nic Mason, Greg Hyde and Dean Mobbs.”
In addition to the professional artworks, individual artworks have been prepared by the junior school students with the 2016 feature exhibitor, Wiradyuri artist Nyree (Ngaire) Reynolds.
The Festival of Art will open with a public function on Friday, May 5 in the Kemmis Building at 6.30pm.
Tickets for the opening are $30 and include local wines and canapes.
Works will be on sale at this event and people are encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets online through the All Saints’ College website, Facebook page or the Trybooking link: http://bit.ly/2okeoZ0.
The Festival of Art will be open to the public from 10am-3pm on Saturday, May 6 and 10am-2pm on Sunday, May 7. Artworks purchased will be available for collection from 3pm on the Sunday or by arrangement with the college.
