A FORMER Bathurst resident popped into the Western Advocate’s office on Monday to give a friendly thanks to the people who tracked her down and returned her wedding ring which was stolen in a house break-in five years ago.

She said she was very impressed, particularly given she no longer lives in Bathurst.

TALK about being rewarded for doing a good deed.
Parade's lawn at home is officially out of control, so his ears pricked up when he heard that the first prize in the recent Bathurst RSL Legacy raffle was a ride-on mower.
It's exactly that sort of addition to the household that might encourage Parade to make more of an effort keeping the grass down.
And the winner of the ride-on mower? Parade is told it was Helen Miskell.
For the record, second prize of a hand mower went to Scott Hutchison, third prize of a gas barbecue went to Logan Robinson, fourth prize of accommodation at Sydney Airport went to Chrissy Brown and fifth prize of movie tickets went to C Spinks.
It’s show time
PARADE has been busy these past few days down at the Bathurst Showground making sure all our readers are in the know about the 149th Royal Bathurst Show.
Parade is hoping to pop down to the showground sometime, either on Friday or Saturday.
It’s always a great time to get amongst the show dogs, animal judging, wood chopping and food.
Parade will not be missing out on his favourite show experience – the Dagwood Dog.
Unfortunately, one of the new feature foods at this year’s Royal Sydney Easter Show – lasagna on a stick – has not made its way to this year’s Royal Bathurst Show.
While Parade is disappointed he has missed out on the delicious-sounding food, Parade is sure his arteries aren’t complaining.
Gates for this year’s Royal Easter Show will open at 9am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
