Last week’s round one result – a 4-2 loss which reverted to a 5-0 forfeit defeat – wasn’t ideal for Orange Ex-Services, there’s no doubting that.

The side now starts well behind the eight-ball, on negative four competition points heading into Saturday’s round two gala day at Parkes.
But the signs were positive for the blue and golds, they attacked well and potted the game’s first two goals before succumbing to Lithgow Panthers’ pressure in a 10-minute period which netted the visitors four goals.
This weekend Ex-Services face the other Lithgow side, Zig Zag, in what has essentially become a must-win game despite being just the second round.
A loss would compound Ex-Services’ problems immeasurably, and leave the side even further adrift of the top teams.
In short, the blue and golds would face a horribly tough task to make it back into the play-off frame, considering the shorter nature of the 2017 season.
Ex-Services takes on Lithgow Zig Zag from 2pm.
