On Thursday night, the mercury dropped to -0.5 in Bathurst, but despite the chill it was a long way off the city’s coldest April temperature on record of -5.0 on April 23, 2006.
As the city moves ever closer to winter, the mercury has started falling and the first frosts are being recorded.
Despite the cold overnight weather, the city has had a maximum temperature of slightly above average this month.
The long term average maximum for April is 20.2 degrees, but so far the median temperature has sat slightly above that at 20.6.
This coming, week the overnight temperatures will hover around three to six degrees, but the days will be warm with Sunday reaching a top of 20 degrees.
There is a slight chance of rain for the coming week, but Weatherzone has predicted that if any does fall it will be less than one millimetre each day.
