Leader in heritage conservation architecture in Australia, Scott Robertson, was awarded this year’s Bathurst Macquarie Heritage Medal on Saturday night.

The award ceremony was held at the at Carrington House on Saturday night and was presented alongside the inaugural Chifley Heritage Award.
Dr Robertson is well known for his relentless passion, willingness to lead and dedication to volunteering through the foundation of Docomomo Australia and has committed his lifetime working to promote and enhance Australia’s 20th century modern heritage.
Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger announced Dr Robertson as the winner of the $25,000 national prize.
“This award enables those individuals who have been recognised with the opportunity to share their passion and commitment broader afield and in taking the Bathurst Macquarie name with them, further spreading the reputation this city has for valuing and promoting its unique heritage,” Mr Hanger said.
“We congratulate Dr Robertson and wish him well in his future research and work highlighting some of Australia’s more recent people, places and events and and look forward to utilising his incredible knowledge and expertise in our city over the next year.”
Dr Robertson has specifically acknowledged for authoring the listing of more than 100 areas of heritage significance and his studies on both World War I and II.
He has also studied inter-war housing in the state for the NSW Heritage Office and the National Trust.
