A WOMAN who took methamphetamine hours before driving has been put off the road for three months after being convicted of driving with an illicit drug in her system.

Caitlyn Jean Honeysett, 22, of Sidley Place in Wallerwang, appeared before Bathurst Local Court on May 1, charged with driving a vehicle with an illicit drug present in her blood.
Honeysett appeared in person and unrepresented before magistrate Michael Allen.
Police facts tendered to the court told how at 2.25pm on December 7 last year Honeysett was pulled over by police at Yetholme for a random breath test and drug test.
The accused produced a driver’s licence and underwent a breath test which produced a negative result, the accused was then subject to an oral fluid test which produced a positive detection to methamphetamine.
She was arrested for the purpose of a secondary oral fluid test, cautioned and questioned by police, when she told them she had the drugs “a couple of hours a go.”
The sample was taken with the remainder sent for analysis. Mr Allen dealt with the matter by way of a Section 10 A conviction, putting Honeysett off the road for three months, to date from May 1.
