It’s always been something that Parade wanted to try, but this is the first time she’s had a dog that has been able to walk in the event.
Bathurst’s Million Paws Walk will start at the Hereford Street low level bridge and take participants along the bank of the Macquarie River, over the old Denison Bridge and back through the parklands.
The course is two kilometres in length.
The best thing is that all the money raised through the event activities, donations, merchandise sales and people’s fundraising efforts go directly towards helping animals in need.
Parade hopes to see lots of Bathurstians at the event when it kicks off at 11am on Sunday, May 21.
It is sure to be an excellent day for people and their pets.
Country tunes
FANS of country music will be delighted to hear that a concert is coming up just for them.
Bathurst Country Music Club will be having a concert at Bathurst RSL Club on Sunday night.
All members of the community are invited to enjoy the event.
Tickets cost $4 for adults. Entry is free for all children under the age of 16 years.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and there are lucky door prizes to be won.
Not to BRAG, but it’s amazing
PARADE has heard that Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) has been able to acquire an impressive piece of art, all because of its supportive volunteers.
In Parade’s eyes, it is simply amazing that the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery Society (BRAGS) has been able to raise more than $200,000 over the years so the art gallery can purchase new works.
The gallery has just used $28,000 of this to purchase a pencil and watercolour work of the landscape around Duramana for its permanent collection.
It’s fair to say that Bathurst is richer by the presence of this group and everything it has helped to acquire.
