This was the second time a delegation from Yangquan had met with people from Bathurst, after former councillor Jess Jennings travelled there in 2014.
The business, economic and educational sectors of both cities were discussed with mayors from each keen to form a partnership.
Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger shared highlights of the city’s business and economic sectors and spoke of the growing population.
Through a translator, Yangquan mayor Yibin Dong told Bathurst councillors, business leaders and his own delegation that he looked forward to working together.
“Our delegation came back to get a better understanding of Bathurst and would like to get new information to become the sister city in the short future,” he said.
