The influence Japan has had on contemporary Australian architecture

Some of the most unique and diverse structures in the world have origins in Japan, making it inevitable that Japanese architecture has influenced design worldwide. It certainly influenced some of Frank Lloyd Wright's work, and right now others are taking inspiration from the work of Pritzker-Prize-winning Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, whose simple and dignified work has given relief to victims of disasters. His work, including the paper log house from Kobe, can currently be seen at the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation (SCAF) in the Sydney suburb of Paddington.
