Stanley will have six runners in action across the seven-race Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing Club meeting, three which are to be ridden by apprentice Chelsea Ings.

The daughter of trainer Wanda Ings, Chelsea Ings has ridden winning doubles at both Dubbo and Cobar this month.

The victories at Cobar included the feature cup, while one of her Dubbo wins came with Stanley’s Fairy Shadow.

Fairy Shadow, who has come to Stanley’s stables after racing for Wanda Ings, will contest the Class 1 Handicap (1,300 metres) on Thursday.

Chelsea Ings will once more be in the saddle.

“In form jockeys are the jockeys you want to jump on board,” Stanley said.

“Fairy Shadow won at Dubbo second start for me, it was a good effort. A maiden is a little bit different to stepping up to this next race, but she’s a mare with a little bit of potential.”

The owners of Stanley’s mare Flying By saw Ings ride Fairy Shadow at Dubbo and were impressed enough to book her to ride the seven-year-old at Bathurst.

Third up, Flying By will contest the 1,200m Benchmark 55 Handicap.
