A 22-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with vandalising the Carillon War Memorial in Bathurst’s historic Kings Parade.

Police allege the man was seen skateboarding through Kings Parade around 10.30pm on Monday.
He returned to the area and produced a piece of wood which he allegedly use to smash the smash three of the four spotlights that illuminate the Carillon.
Witnesses saw the man and contacted police.
He was arrested and conveyed to Bathurst police station where he was later charged with malicious damage.
He will appear in Bathurst Local Court at a later date.
