JB Hi-Fi has confirmed 32 new jobs will be created in Bathurst when the electrical giant opens its newest store in July.

The new outlet will open in the Bathurst City Centre in the store vacated by Dick Smith Electronics last year.
Work is already well underway to get the site ready for JB Hi-Fi to move in, with black plastic and boarded-up doors covering the work being done by Dunstan Constructions.
The Western Advocate understands the JB Hi-Fi shop will also take in the adjoining Factorie store that closed down recently.
JB Hi-Fi started advertising for new staff last week to fill a range of roles from store manager to sales and media manager, sales co-ordinator, media co-ordinators, general salespeople, stock inventory storepeople and an office administrator.
Operations director Peter Green said new staff would undergo extensive customer service training ahead of the store’s official opening.
“Opening a new store is always a proud moment for our people and none more so than the team who has worked so hard in the development of the Bathurst store,” Mr Green said.
“Investment to build the store is around $1 million and it will provide 32 new jobs across permanent and casual roles.”
Area manager Brett Jenkins said the Bathurst outlet would bring the number of JB Hi-Fi stores across Australia and New Zealand to almost 200.
“I’m really looking forward to leading the team and opening the new store,” he said.
“We are really excited about providing the best brands at JB’s famous low prices on such a wide range of consumer electronics, entertainment and home appliances.”
The new outlet will be a JB Hi-Fi Home store selling electronics, entertainment and home appliances.
News of the new store has already created plenty of interest among Bathurst shoppers with the Western Advocate Facebook page lighting up last week as readers welcomed the announcement.
