Portland’s Mitchell Duggan created a new Series Production lap record at the Orange Car Carriers Cullen Bullen Raceway last Saturday evening hosted by the Portland District Motor Sports Club.

Blayney driver Matthew Hutchison took the lap record held by Wes Barnes in heat two of the forty race program but Duggan again reduced it in the ten lap feature on a superbly Kevin and Andrew Blackley prepared track surface.
Duggan had an almost perfect night winning two heats and the feature from Hutchison,Tim Graham and Kevin Sawdy while Oberon driver Peter Simmons suffered mechanical problems in the all Holden Commodore class.
Great close racing came from the Lithgow City Council “All Star” Junior class with every race having a different victor.
The opening heat gave Tarah Swadling of Orange victory over Bek Giffin and Ethan Brown. Brown won heat two over Amber Culverson and Sarah Bradley. Bradley, of Blayney, won heat three from Culverson and Swadling after Canberra driver Liam Murphy ended his race head on into the main straight fence after a torrid dice with Bek Giffin.
Giffin, of Orange, drove a sensation race to win the ten lap feature over Ethan Brown and Tarah Swadling.
Twelve year old Jaiden Healey won the Portland RSL Club Junior “New Star” feature from Eathan Field driving a borrowed Hyundai followed closely by Jackson Goldie and diminutive Max Essai.
Essai of the ACT actually drew first blood by winning the opening heat, Healey took the second and Field claimed the third.
The Tony Scott Plant Hire RSA Street Stocker class is always a highlight of racing with three different heat winners in Kevin Blackley over Andrew Blackley and Jodie Blackley.
Chris Marino won over David Giffin and Kevin Blackley while Martin Blackley took the third heat from Chris Marino and Andrew Blackley.
The ten lap had Kevin taking the chequer from wife Jodie son Andrew with great performances also from Newcastles Lindsay Cornwell and Huey Vanderveen.
Four Cylinder class with victory in the first heat going to John Spicer from the brothers Swadling Kiel and Joel but Kiel claimed the second heat from a much improved Chloe Board and Josh Goldie.
Heat three, Joel Swadling claimed victory over Josh Goldie and the wiley John Spicer with Spicer fighting back to win the feature over Goldie and Joel Swadling .
The open wheeler divisions of Grand Prix Midgets, Microsprints, Modlites and Speedway Karts. Anthony Lea won the Memorial Race dedicated in honor of Clive.
