Held at Bathurst Showground on Sunday, the 14th annual event attracted more than 500 entries.
Bathurst and District Poultry Society president Michael Lane said he was very pleased with the number and variety of entrants the show continues to attract.
“We had an exceptional number of Japanese bantams. We had 24 this year, normally we only see a few,” he said.
“We had a lady from Swan Hill [in Victoria] who took out champion hard feather [category].
“Judges were very impressed with the line-up.”
This year’s show was the first time that Bathurst man Peter Matus had entered poultry for judging and he was impressed with the results.
He entered five gold laced wyandotte chickens and was awarded with two first place awards and one second.
“This was encouraging, I’ll definitely be back,” Mr Matus said.
