Really, neither is Tyrone Peachey himself.

But both Western Rams guns in the Penrith line up are just glad they managed to escape Bathurst with another memorable win in front of a bumper Carrington Park crowd.

In total, 8,730 people witness Peachey latch onto a Matt Moylan offload inside the final minute to race away and score what was the match-winning four-pointer.

The Peachey try capped a frenetic final 80 seconds where boom backrower Corey Harawira-Naera also scored, helping Panthers pull to within two points of the Raiders.

It was then over to the Cowboys junior to bring it home.

“Peach bobbed up at the right moment, which he tends to do all the time,” Yeo said after the win.

“We were down by eight points with three minutes to go and to get over the top of them … I thought when we had the ball we looked like we were trying to push the pass and go around them, but lucky in the last few sets we looked to play through them and they were tired enough to not close the gaps.

“It’s a great win for us.”

The softly spoken Peachey was just as thrilled, but more so for skipper Moylan, who again starred in the No.6 jersey for the resurgent Panthers.

Saturday’s Bathurst clash was just the second Moylan has played at five-eighth, and the Panthers have won both games.

“I just knew I had to push up with Moyza there and there would be something. Luckily it ended up on my chest,” Peachey said.

“I just know he’s going to do something towards the end there and I was there at the right time.”

Peachey had family make the trip over from Wellington for the clash, one both he and Yeo embrace thanks to their time spent in the Country Rugby League system.

Yeo is a St John’s Dubbo product, while his family now resides in Mudgee. 

“It might not be Dubbo or Mudgee ... but it’s close enough and I enjoy the time,” Yeo said of the week at Bathurst.

One he’ll enjoy a lot more of given the Bathurst NRL game has been secured – a win for both the players and Bathurst community, if the Dubbo product’s sentiment is anything to go by.

“We rocked up to all the schools and they loved it,” Yeo added. 

“They were all in shorts and t-shirts and it was about minus one, that’s what it felt like.”

“It’s awesome, the atmosphere at country footy,” Peachey added. 

“They all get behind us and the Bathurst Panthers got a win as well. It was awesome for the Panthers club.
