A 70-YEAR-OLD man has been flown to Sydney by air ambulance following a hit and run accident on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred on the corner of George and Durham streets at 4.15pm, near Bob Jane T-Marts.
NSW Ambulance duty officer Peter Rowlands said at this stage he did not know if the man lived in Bathurst.
“He had severe facial injuries and a fractured pelvis and femur,” he said.
Inspector Rowlands said there were witnesses to the accident.
“There were witnesses who saw him get hit and the car just kept going,” he said.
EARLIER: A pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle in the Bathurst CBD this evening.
Two ambulances and a police vehicle are currently on the scene of the incident at the corner of George and Durham streets, near Bob Jane T-Marts.
An air ambulance has been called to transport the injured person to hospital and is expected to land on Hereford Street shortly.
Early reports suggest the incident was a hit and run, but police are yet to confirm that.
The condition of the pedestrian, a man, is not known at this stage. He was hit around 4.15pm.
