Lithgow Workies sit second-last on the Group 10 table at the halfway point of the competition but they are still looking to give the 2017 season a real shake.

After two wins from eight games, Workies will be looking to take advantage of the draw which has scheduled six of their last eight games to be at home.
"In the past and even now we don't like losing at home," Workies captain-coach Chris Rhodes said.
"I think we can still be competitive and hopefully cause some headaches for these other teams… CYMS beat us well and truly but everyone else, I sort of think we're not far off.
"Once you put a couple of good games together the confidence builds and it's a different ball game. Especially playing at home, if you can build that momentum, you're laughing."
Workies’ mission to turn their around season begins this weekend with a home game against the Bathurst Panthers.
Like most sides in Group 10, Workies will be refreshed after a general bye last weekend.
However the Panthers will be backing up after facing the Orange Hawks in the curtain raiser for last weekend's NRL match in Bathurst.
"Hopefully playing at home will prove the difference but we're still just working forward,” Rhodes said.
“Just trying to build on what we've got and improve week to week which is our main goal at the moment."
In a massive boost for Workies, stalwart Jono Van Veen will make his return from injury after spending a few weeks on the sidelines.
The key for Workies will be controlling the ruck and the game through the middle of the field.
"We’ve really got to win the rucks, that's where our game sort of lies and if we don't get on top of that then we're shot ducks," Rhodes said.
Whatever Workies do, they will not want the Panthers to control the pace of the game.
"Especially this weekend against Panthers, that's where we've got to try and control their big boys, Brett Seager and that, they're really good at getting quick play the balls.
“We've got to shut that down so blokes like Jeremy Gordon can't play off the back of it."
Workies are chasing all the support they can get for the second half of the season.
"Our reserve grade is going really well, the girls are going really well so it will be good to see some new faces and some old faces down at the showground to bring us home."
Workies will play the Panthers on Sunday at Tony Luchetti Showground.
League Tag will kick off at 11am, first division at midday and premier league at 1.30pm.
