Bathurst City Amatuer Swim Club has finished second place in the Mountains and Plains Winter Short Course Meet overall points tally after strong swimming from the team’s 41 competitors last weekend.

Among the Bathurst group were a number of swimmers who have only recently joined the club, competing for the first time at a swim meet.
Bathurst City Amateur Swim Club had several competitors achieve qualifying times for the upcoming NSW Country Short Course Championships, which are being held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on July 1 and 2.
The Bathurst boys 12 and under 4x50m freestyle relay team swam a thrilling race to just touch out the Jets Swim Club for first place.
The Bathurst quartet picked up a Mountains and Plains record breaking time of 2:06.66 in the process.
Cooper Stephens was awarded the eight years boys age champion trophy and Josh Stapley doubled the success for the team by being named the men's open age champion.
Bathurst City Amateur Swim Club will now have 13 swimmers competing in individual events at the NSW Country Short Course Championships.
The team will also be bringing along an additional three swimmers, who are attending to round out the boys 12&U and girls 13-14 years relay teams.
