These are not always of a musical nature and special interest groups and individuals are welcome to put up program suggestions or proposals.
Areas that could appeal for aspiring programmers are in gardening, handyman and environmental issues, all of which are quite topical and just awaiting the right person or persons to come along.
People love to hear about garden success stories and learn the secrets of cultivating that veggie patch we have all wanted or growing the perfect dahlia or rare species, how and when to prune roses, what is the best way to handle flowering bulbs and so on.
If you have that type of knowledge and would love to pass on your green thumb tips and answer listener inquiries through a radio program we would love to hear from you.
The same goes for the those with handyman skills.
The listening audience is always keen to learn how to stop that door from sticking, what sealant should be used around wet areas, how do you stop the tap from leaking, what is the difference between a butt joint and a dado joint, how do I fix a hole in plasterboard etc.
There are a million and one questions people would like to know the answers for and many keen handymen or former tradesmen have the knowledge to pass on and could do through a weekly or fortnightly radio program.
Environmental issues now face us every day and if an environmental group would like put a program to air we would welcome them with open arms whether its subjects associated with the changing climate or the best way to recycle your grey water let’s get it ‘out there’ to the listening audience.
It doesn’t have to be one of the above ideas, it could be cooking tips, mechanical advice, book reviews or any subject within reason.
This is how the successful Cool Climate Living program came into being.
You simply need to contact 2MCE for more details and go through a short training course and you could be the next Jamie Durie or Nigela Lawson. Contact us on 6338-4790 bh.

RETRO Top 40 this Saturday afternoon has seen presenter Tim Williams with his thinking cap on again to come up with a rather unusual theme, Singing Families – Not Necessarily Related.
I won’t give too many away but there is the Partridge Family and the Righetous Brothers and a band that did contain brothers but that wasn’t the name they performed under in the Statler Brothers.
Tim has a whole lot more Family Bands that Weren’t this Saturday afternoon from 4 to 6pm just prior to Saturday Night Jukebox, this week being hosted by Jeff Cox.
