Officers have received reports of fake $50 notes circulating in the city and say people need to be aware.
“Please be careful, there have been two reports of $50 counterfeit notes circulating in the Bathurst township,” a police spokesperson said.
“If you are unfortunate enough to receive one, please contact local police to make a report.”

Driver in serious condition after car hits tree
AN 80-year-old man was flown to Sydney for treatment following a single vehicle crash north of Bathurst.
Police said the man was driving along the Sofala Road around noon on Wednesday when his vehicle left the road and hit a tree.
Emergency services attended the scene and freed the man after he had been trapped in his vehicle for some time.
He was flown to a Sydney hospital in a serious condition.
