Since making his professional road cycling debut in 2004, Renshaw has been on the start line for the Tour de France on eight occasions.
He is hoping that number will tick over to nine on July 1 as a member of Dimension Data’s nine-rider team. The 104th edition of the Tour de France commences with a 14 kilometre time trial in Dusseldorf.
Renshaw is one of his team’s lead out specialists and while he suffered a setback when fracturing his ankle in April’s Scheledeprijs, his fitness and form has been building.
“As a sprinter, you need to come in on red hot form because I think stage two, four, five and seven, off the top of my head, are going to be sprints,” Renshaw told cyclingcentral earlier this month.
