The one thing that the crowds at the Bathurst Winter Festival (July 2-16) really proves is that the cold is no barrier to getting out and enjoying ourselves.

Smashing through barriers was on the mind of the artists exhibiting in Invincible, the second exhibition by Artshed, a local collective of artists with and without a disability.
Artists were asked to explore the concepts of invincibility, invisibility and vulnerability.

The exhibition will be held down the bottom of Keppel Street at Tremain’s Mill shed – which had a previous life as the Invincible Flour Mill.
Featuring not only visual art pieces but a performance work by members of the group, it opens this Friday evening at 6pm, and will run until July 16, during the Bathurst Winter Festival.
See artsoutwest.org.au for opening times.
Live music
KICKING off a busy weekend of entertainment, Midnight Drifters will be at the Bathurst RSL this Friday afternoon from 2pm, Gabbi Bolt is playing at Webb & Co bar in Bathurst on Friday evening from 6pm and Luke Robinson is at Bathurst Panthers on Saturday from 8pm.
Fossil Flicks
LOCATED right in the heart of Winter Festival activities, the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum is holding Fossil Flicks Silent Film Festival during July, starting with a 1925 classic The Lost World on Friday night at 6pm.
Hit the trail
BATHURST Arts Trail is on again this weekend.
Check out the studios of some of our best local artists, as painters, potters, glass artists, sculptors and printmakers showcase their talents.
Head into the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre and pick up a brochure, or to bathurstartstrail.com.
Then on Sunday at 2pm head to to Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre and catch a screening of Daniel Radcliffe on stage in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead.
Recorded at the Old Vic Theatre in London, this is a brilliantly funny situation comedy by Tom Stoppard (possibly my favourite stage comedy ever).
Out and about
OUT of town, Bathurst artist Heather Burdette currently has an exhibition of art on display in Forbes.
As the Crow Flies: The Quickest Distance Between Two Points will remain on exhibition at the Platypus Gallery until July 8.
