When she was leaving Bathurst on Saturday morning, she spotted e10 prices around 123 cents per litre, but by time she arrived at her destination a few hours later, it had dropped by around 14 cents.
The interesting thing was that during her drive she had seen the prices go up and down several times.
It makes sense that Sydney prices are often lower, as there isn’t much transportation involved, but it did surprise Parade that towns closer and on the direct route to Sydney could be significantly more expensive than in Bathurst.
People often complain about the cost of petrol, but the trip made Parade think that things aren’t all that bad at the bowser in Bathurst.
Spare a thought for your pooch
HOW many people change their habits when the temperature drops in Bathurst?
The answer is likely every single resident.
So, if we’re changing what we wear, what we eat and so much more, then maybe our dogs need a change, too?
The overnight temperatures are getting below zero regularly, and if pets are sleeping outside, they need a little bit of extra warmth.
Parade has read a few different articles and one of the key tips she has seen is to have a kennel available that faces away from the wind.
Another tip she saw was to elevate bedding where possible so pets aren’t sleeping on the cold ground.
Parade would suggest dog owners speak to their vets to find out what else they can do to protect their pets.
It’s cold comfort
WHILE on the subject of the cold weather, let’s talk about ice cream.
Parade was a little surprised to see so many people walking around the central business district on Tuesday eating ice cream.
She thought she was the only one who still liked to indulge in cold treats despite the winter conditions, but apparently that’s not the case in Bathurst.
Parade is curious to see if the trend continues in the middle of July.
