Records dominated the music scene prior to cassettes and CDs, originally coming out as 78s, which means 78 revolutions per minute on a turntable.
Later came the more popular 33 1/3 long play record (LP) that could fit more songs on each side of the disc while singles, or 45s, had just one song per side.
So vinyl has a long history on the music scene and many argue they have a far better sound than CDs or digital tracks.

Program review
2MCE is currently undertaking a program review to make sure we are offering the type of programming that you the listener want to hear.
We are seeking feedback from the community on the type of material you want to hear whether it be music style, documentaries, information, news or more lifestyle programming.
The best way we can do that is by hearing from you and your likes and dislikes, when you listen and why or when you turn off and why?

JUST a reminder that if you or anyone you know has reading difficulties and want to keep up with what is going on in the community, tune into 2MCE weekdays between noon and 1pm for the Talking Newspaper.
Our volunteer presenters provide an hour of readings from both the Western Advocate and Central Western Daily newspapers to keep you abreast of all the local happenings.
This service has been running for some 35 plus years and enables those with vision issues, reading problems and those in remote locations to stay in touch in what is happening in our area.
