James Kenneth Alfred Daldorf, 30, of Tandora Street, Kelso, did not appear before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court on June 5.
Police facts tendered to the court told how Daldorf was driving his 2002 BMW in Gilmour Street, Kelso at 10.40am on May 8 when police, who were conducting patrols, pulled him over for a random breath test.
When police asked for his licence, Daldorf said: "I don’t have one."
The accused was questioned in relation to the status of his driver’s licence and he said: "I’m disqualified, I’m an idiot."
Daldorf produced a tattoo operator’s licence as identity.
His roadside breath test produced a negative result.
Police checks on the RMS terminal revealed the accused had previously held a Provisional 1 driver's licence with an expiry date of December 20, 2014.
Further checks on the accused's licence revealed he was disqualified at Orange Local Court on October 12, 2015 for a period of three months.
During that disqualification period, he was charged with driving while disqualified. At Bathurst Local Court on November 31, 2015, he was disqualified for a further 12 months.
The disqualification period had ended in January 2017, however, the accused had not renewed his licence, making him unlicensed.
Checks also revealed he had been stopped by police on April 25, 2017 in relation to the same driving offence.
