The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a run of below zero morning temperatures until next Monday, with the weekend to cop the worst.
The mercury is tipped to fall to minus-7 degrees on Saturday morning – which would be the lowest temperature this year – and -6 on Sunday as the worst of winter hits much of the state.
But the bureau is also forecasting sunny days on both Saturday and Sunday with tops of 13 and 14 respectively.
