The hall is one of the few memorial halls in NSW that was built by the community to honour the men and women who served in both World Wars.
“It was built by local people. The timber was cut at the timber mill in Eglinton. The doors date back to 1838 and the gates came from a property out of town,” Eglinton War Memorial Hall Committee publicity officer Graham Carter said.
“It is a community hall. It’s used for playgroups, dance school, birthday parties and weddings. It was even used for bush dances back in the day.”
Come July 22, several memorial emblems on the building and an information board will be unveiled.
The community is invited to come along to the unveiling at 2pm, which will also include an afternoon tea and cake.
Representatives from the Bathurst RSL Sub-Branch, Bathurst Regional Council and both Member for Bathurst Paul Toole and Member for Calare Andrew Gee will be in attendance.
Mr Carter expects more than 150 people to turn up on the Saturday.
A band will also be performing on the day for the celebration.
