Bathurst Highway Patrol Command officers detected the speeding motorist at 3.30pm on Friday.
Officers said the man drove his Ford Falcon along Alpha Street, Bathurst at 109km/h where his speed was checked on radar.
The male then drove the vehicle onto Gormans Hill Road, where he entered a school zone outside MacKillop College.
Police said at the time there were numerous children, parents and vehicles in the area.
Officers said the driver then accelerated through the school zone and reached a speed of 200km/h in the sign-posted 40km/h area.
The male was stopped by police and made full admissions stating: “It was stupid”.
For the speed of 109km/h the driver was issued an infringement notice for ‘P2 licence holder exceed speed limit over 45km/h’, a fine of $2350.
His licence was immediately suspended for six months.
Police also confiscated his Ford Falcon for a three month period.
For the speed of 200km/h in the 40km/h school zone, the male was charged with ‘Drive at a speed dangerous to the public’.
The male will appear at Bathurst Local Court in August.
