Just after midnight on Wednesday two men repeatedly threw bricks at the shop’s front window and then punched the thick glass.
The business’ closed circuit television cameras captured the 12.46am vandalism attack clearly.
Two men can be seen walking along Howick Street, towards William Street, they were already carrying bricks.
The men, who had their faces covered and were wearing hoodies, then began to throw bricks at the window.
When the bricks bounce violently back towards them, they pick them up and throw them again.
In all, the bricks are thrown nine times at the window, with one of the men also punching the glass with his fist.
Eventually, they break a large hole in the window and three bricks end up inside the bakery.
However, as the men walk off toward William Street they pull off the coverings from their faces as they unwittingly expose their faces to the CCTV camera.
Bathurst Bakery owners, who asked not to be named, said they have been left dumbfounded as to why their business was targeted by the two vandals in the late night attack.
“You just think why. What have you done to deserve this,” he said.
“Quite often we have a baker working at this time, it was just lucky they weren’t here.”
The strange thing, the owners said, was that nothing was stolen and there was no attempt to break in.
Bathurst Bakery’s owners said they only discovered the damage at 4am when they arrived for work.
“We had to clean everything out to make sure there was no glass,” he said. “We didn’t open until 1pm, we lost seven hours of trade.”
CCTV footage from inside and outside the store has been given to Bathurst Police.
“If anyone recognises these two people please contact the police,” the owner asked.
You just think why. What have you done to deserve this.

Also suffering minor window damage was the Smart Dollar store in the car park area at Stockland Shopping Centre.
The incident occurred just 36 minutes earlier, at 12.10am, and the window was left with scratches.
