The Saints’ recent annual general meeting was used to not only allocate the club’s board positions for the new season, but to outline the club’s goals and ambitions for 2017-18.
Pat’s are determined to start this season on the front foot after they left their strong run of form too late in the previous first grade competition.
New club secretary Brad Broes said the success of the Saints’ younger crew over the past season bodes well for the future.
“The big aim for us is to continue bringing our junior cricketers through the ranks. Towards the second half of last season that’s where our work with them was paying off,” he said.
“Ben Parsons scored an unbeaten 100 in the last match of the year, Ben Mitchell and Nic Broes made plenty of runs and took lots of wickets, and Connor Slattery has been a feature of our first grade side for a few years now and he’s blossoming into a great player.
“It’s been great having a strong group of experienced heads around, like Matt Fearnley, Shane Broes and Adam Ryan.”
Fearnley was named as the new club president at the AGM while the previous holder of the position, Scott Traves, takes the vice-president spot.
Shane Broes was named treasurer.
