THIS season only two men in the T54 wheelchair classification have managed to push faster than Kurt Fearnley over 5000 metres, but come this weekend the Carcoar product will be looking to go even faster.

Fearnley is in London for the World Para Athletics Championships, with the 5,000m event the second on his schedule.
Though he managed to make the final of the 1,500m earlier this week, he was disappointed with his push in that decider.
“I’m still trying to get my head around it. Sixth is where I came in Rio, but tonight the old arms wouldn’t fire up,” he said.
He will be hoping those arms do fire up on Saturday when he contests his heat of the 5,000m. His rivals in that include current world record holder Rawat Tana, the Thai star having clocked a 9:49.17 on May 27.
Fearnley's personal best for the event in which he claimed bronze at last year’s Rio Paralympics came earlier this year. It was a 9:49.94.
The 5,000m final will be contested on Sunday.
