The 1st/19th Battalion, Royal New South Wales Regiment is an infantry battalion of the Australian Army and is based in Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga.
During the open night, attendees will hear information on training, conditions, pathways for entry and opportunities that are open as a member of the Army Reserve in the Australian Defence Force.
Soldiers will also practice vehicle check point drills on the night.
The Army Reserves is open to men and women, who once trained, operate alongside full-time personnel.
“They are ready to serve in a fully-trained military capacity if and when Australia needs them; and help rebuild the lives of entire communities in Australia and overseas when natural disasters strike,” the Defence Jobs website states.
“A part-time role that's different and exciting, offers tax-free pay and flexibility, and puts you in situations where you can really make a difference to communities in need.”
Gates will be open from 7-7.15pm on Lloyds Road, opposite the corner of Bant Street.
