BATHURST has hit a new record low temperature overnight, with the temperature dropping to -7.5 degrees Celsius at Bathurst Airport this morning.

Bureau of Meteorology data shows the mercury dropped to -7.5 degrees at 6.30am – the lowest figure since records have been taken at the airport.
The airport weather station’s previous record low was -7.3 on July 15, 2006.
The record low continues a year of weather extremes for Bathurst, coming just five months after the region hit a record high temperature of 42.1 degrees on February 11 this year.
This morning’s deep freeze has also continue a long run of subzero mornings and dry days this month.
Bathurst has now recorded 15 subzero mornings out of 22 for July.
Light sleeting rain on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday barely made an impact on the region’s gauges, taking the monthly total to just 4.6mm, making a total rainfall of just 8.2mm across the region since the start of winter on June 1.
The bureau is now forecasting “a shower or two” on Wednesday, with more showers possible on Thursday and Friday.
