A FIRST grade Bathurst District Football Association player has pleaded guilty to two counts of supplying a prohibited drug and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Brayden Ian North, 23, of Mitre Street, appeared before magistrate Michael Allen on Monday where he pleaded guilty to supplying a prohibited drug (indictable quantity, not cannabis), supplying a prohibited drug and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Two further charges, supplying a prohibited drug greater than or equal to commercial quantity and supplying a prohibited drug, were withdrawn and dismissed.
North was charged following an early morning raid on his house in April this year.
Agreed facts were tendered to the court on Monday which outlined how on April 5, police applied for and were granted a warrant to search North’s Mitre Street address.
The search was executed on April 7, and when police arrived North was at home, along with two other people.
Once the house was cleared of the people other than the offender, police executed the search warrant, which was recorded by an AV camera. Before starting the search, police cautioned North and offered him the opportunity to declare any unlawful items.
The search was completed by 9.30am, and North was taken to Bathurst Police Station.
During the search, police found a container with 36 3,4-MDMA capsules on a cabinet and a cigarette packet containing nine resealable bags containing cocaine.
The search also found another cigarette packet which contained seven small resealable plastic bags containing cocaine, a box containing several resealable bags under a bed, $1120 in Australian currency on a television cabinet, another bag containing a quantity of 3,4-MDMA in powder form on a cabinet, a capsule filling device, a 3,4-MDMA purity testing kit, a small plastic bag containing cocaine, $505 in Australian currency, two vacuumed sealed bags containing 3,4-MDMA powder, a small plastic bag containing 3,4-MDMA pills in a wardrobe, a vial containing powder in a wardrobe, $31,895 in Australian currency sealed in a drug bag in a wardrobe and another 14 3,4-MDMA pills.
North sat silently in court as his solicitor entered the three guilty pleas to sequence two, three and five.
Magistrate Allen committed North to the Bathurst District Court for sentence.
The matter will be mentioned in the Bathurst District Court on October 23 to fix a hearing date for sentencing. North is excused if legally represented.
