Help Green Bathurst this National Tree Day. On National Tree Day we will be rehabilitating the Macquarie River by planting native riparian plants along the riverbank. Watch over time as the plantings grow and provide habitat for our native birds, frogs and fish. O'Keefe Park, 230 Eglinton Road, Abercrombie. We will be planting along the riverbank in O'Keefe Park. Use the park gate on Eglinton Road, next to the grid of gum trees, and walk towards the river. Out of the Dark is a free six week program for female victims of family violence, run by facilitators from Bathurst’s Family Violence Awareness Group, to assist women in making health lifestyle choices. Topics include: Myths and facts about family violence. The cycle of violence. AVOs. Recognising healthy and unhealthy relationships. The effects of family violence on children. Tuesday’s August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and September 5 from 5pm-7.30pm. Light supper will be provided (courtesy of the Country Women's Association).
