Sam and Andrew Galliotas and their sons Gianni, 4, and Alecko, nine months, are living in temporary accommodation with family after the fire last Thursday morning.
Ms Galliotas said she had been outside feeding the chooks when she came back inside to discover a fire underneath her four-year-old son's bed.
I tried to put it out, but my first thought was to get the kids out of the house.

“I tried to put it out, but my first thought was to get the kids out of the house,” she said. “I put the kids in the car and reversed it out on to the street.
“I had the garden hose, but it was doing nothing to put out the flames.
“Staff from Oberon High School and neighbours came to help, but there was nothing they could do."
Ms Galliotas said she was thankful no one was hurt, but “we will have to start again”.
