Abby Smith and Sophie Jones released their album, Dark Gives Way, earlier this year and its first single Baby Blue topped the Australian Country Radio charts.
The duo’s next single, Small Town Woman, was released on Friday and for them it was very personal.
“The clip pays homage to the town as well as celebrating the magic and simple beauty of country life,” Ms Smith said.
“We’ve been so supported by so many women and we feel so blessed.”
The music video was filmed in and around Bathurst and it features a number of women at work, at play and with their children.
Mad Season Cafe’s Queenie Green is among the women in the video, as is Kylie Shead from the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.
“It’s a celebration of local women, their businesses and generosity,” Ms Smith said.
Small Town Woman was filmed and produced by Michael Carpenter who also produced the duo’s album.
- Smith & Jones’ next gig is at The Hub on August 1.
