A report to councillors said 51 new projects had been awarded a total of $355,015 funding during the 2016-17 financial year as part of the largest funding project of its type in NSW.
“There is an extremely positive response from property owners and community groups throughout the region about the funding program,” the report states.
“Council continues to see property owners annually undertaking small projects that have improved their property and over time help to improve the streetscapes of the heritage conservation areas.”
Projects supported through funding in 2016-17 included the Bathurst Uniting Church, Bathurst Presbyterian Church, Fitzgerald Valley Uniting Church, the former Peel School Hall, grave restorations at the Holy Trinity Church and village cemeteries at Long Swamp, Rockley and Trunkey Creek.
