Hundreds of fires are burning and thousands of people have been evacuated in Canada, a NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) spokesman said.
An Australian crew of 48 firefighters are already mid-way through a 42-day deployment to British Columbia.
Crews already there have been assisting in a number of roles including logistics, finance, aviation and public information at blazes burning across British Columbia.
The RFS spokesman said a further 100 remote area firefighters are now required for deployment on Wednesday.
“This call is for remote area crews, it’s arduous work,” he said.
“They must be very fit and very well trained.”
