Open your pet’s mouth if they will allow it. The warning signs include bad breath, red, swollen gums, yellow-brown coating on the teeth and pain or bleeding when you touch the gums.

To raise awareness about oral health issues in dogs and cats, Stewart Street Veterinary Hospital is offering free dental checks in August and September. A vet will assess your pet’s teeth and recommend action. These checks are by appointment only: call 6331 1222 to book.
