Bred locally by Monica and Graham Betts and trained by Aaron Williams, the Abercrombie Dexter x Verroom three-year-old took out the Parkes League Club Pace (2,040 metres).
In 25 previous starts the best Begging Me Please had managed was a pair of seconds, a record which saw him start as a $7 chance on Sunday.
From barrier one Rue was able to get the lead and there he stayed with Williams’ runner.
The experienced reinsman was able to pinch a soft opening quarter of the last mile – clocking a 33 seconds split – then eased through the second sectional in 31.3.
While Bernie Hewitt rolled up three wide from second last with $3.30 favourite Ten Crystals to apply pressure, Begging Me Please held on.
Ten Crystals made a late dive, but Begging Me Please won by 1.7m.
