Playing at The Renaissance Club, O’Malley fired rounds of 73, 72 then 69 to finish the European Senior Tour event at one-over the card.
His final day was the highlight as he carded four birdies – on the third, 13th, 16th and 18th – for a two-under round.
It helped him to his best finish in three appearances at the over 50s tournament, O’Malley having placed tied 39th last year and 35th in 2015.
The result also maintained O’Malley’s standing on the tour’s Order of Merit. He is ranked 40th after five tournaments.
The tournament was won by Paul Broadhurst for the second consecutive year, the Englishman carding a -13.
“I hit some really close irons into strong winds; that was the key to the win. It’s great to win this event again; this trophy really means a lot to me,” he said.
