THE Acacia Quartet returns to the Central West following a critically acclaimed European tour.

At shows in Forbes and Bathurst they’ll perform Haydn String Quartet Op. 77/11, Kats-Chernin-From Anna Magdalena’s Notebook and Schubert’s String Quartet 13 op. 29 D804 ‘Rosamunde’.

While in town, the quartet will run a string workshop to prepare a massed strings item for the Mitchell Conservatorium Winter Showcase Concert on August 20.

Hear them this Friday, August 11 at 7pm at Bathurst’s Mitchell Conservatorium.

American artist

SHEA Peterson is an American artist who moved to Australia in 2011 and to Bathurst in 2015.

He has exhibited internationally and been published in book of contemporary international artists.

His exhibition, opening at 6.30pm on Saturday night at Mad Season Café (in the arcade at 49 William Street), touches on cubist, surrealist, and expressionist techniques with primitivism at its core.

The opening moves onto Tommy’s at 8pm for drinks and a viewing of larger mural works on canvas.
