The next three months will give our patrons a varied choice of entertainment from across the globe, including Cirque Africa on Saturday, August 19.
Cirque Africa has toured to BMEC previously and it is a performance not to be missed. Twenty-five performing artists from six African countries, including acrobats, dancers, musicians and contortionists, perform a 100-minute, awe-inspiring show. The show will start at 7.30pm and is a suitable performance for all ages.
On September 21, we will travel to Japan with Yamato – The Drummers Of Japan.
With heart-thumping rhythm, thunderous sounds and explosive beats, the Yamato drummers push their limits in this staggering display of physical strength and ferocious skill.
In this high-energy performance, the unmistakable sound of the traditional Taiko drum, used in Shinto rituals, is challenged by Yamato as they use their entire bodies to produce their breathtaking beats. The show will start at 7.30pm.
Much loved by Bathurst, Scotland’s legendary singer/songwriter Isla Grant will return to BMEC on September 29 with new songs and her most-loved music.
We will then travel to Ireland for The Rhythms of Ireland on October 14. This spectacular evening will be filled with traditional Irish dance, music and song.
Then we will head to the USA and travel back in time to the fabulous 40s when The Glenn Miller Orchestra performs on October 26.
In this production, featuring 24 musicians, singers and dancers on stage, the Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform all its classic hits: Chattanooga Choo Choo, In The Mood, Tuxedo Junction, A String Of Pearls, Moonlight Serenade and songs from the repertoire of the Andrews Sisters.
This will be a night of unforgettable music from the 1940s.
On November 10, Thomas Crane and his hot band Bohemian Rhapsody will bring Queen – The Magic Tour to BMEC.
This Queen performance captures the posturing, preening, strutting and showmanship of Freddie Mercury. Bohemian Rhapsody stands alone to showcase the music of the greatest rock band of all time.
Throughout the year, BMEC also screens National Theatre Live performances from London and presents work from our annual season.
